Advanced Settings
7.6 Advanced Settings
The ADVANCED SET UP option allows you to set up values for the following
three parameters that affect the fine-tuning of the radar. Advanced settings
are only available from the Master radar display (that is, the display con-
nected to the scanner).
Note:Under normal circumstancesyouwillnotneedtoadjust thesesettings,
astheyare setautomatically atthe factory. Iftheseparametersaresetincor-
rectlytheperformance ofthe radar willbeadverselyaffected.Accessto the
menuis therefore via a hidden keypress.
To changethe settings:
1. Pressthe MENU keytodisplaythesetup softkeys.
2. Pressand hold theblanksoftkey directlytothe right of the RADAR SET UP
softkey for5 seconds.TheAdvancedSettingsmenuisthen displayed.
3. Usethetrackpadto movetheselection bar to the requiredoption.
4. Usethesoftkeystoincreaseor decreasethe slidersetting. Assoon as you
starttoadjustthe setting,the menu pageisclearedso thatyoucanseethe
effects of the adjustmenton the radarpicture,andtheradaris set to 1/8nm
range.
5. PressENTER to displaythe menu again.
6. PressCLEAR toreturntotheMenusoftkeys,andCLEAR againtoreturnto
normaloperation.
Ifrequired,youcanrecallthefactorydefaultsforthispage.Todoso,movethe
selection bartotheSCANNER RESET option,presstheADVANCED SETTING
RESET soft key,and presstheYES softkeytoconfirm.
Display Timing
If you extended the inter-unit cable, you should have set the display timing
when you first installed your system, as described in Radar System Checks
and Adjustments on page 8-17.
