Using the SeaTalk Auxiliary Junction Box
Ajunction box(providedwiththeradar/chartand chartdisplays;optional
withthe radardisplays)is usedto connect theSeaTalksystemto the display
unit.This junctionbox enables theSeaTalkbus, power and GPS to be
connected.
Ifpower is not alreadyavailable(via anotherSeaTalk instrument), the
junctionboxcanbeusedtoapplypower to the SeaTalkbusforother
applications. The junctionbox may alsobe used forotherpurposes, e.g.
supplyingpowertoafluxgate compass androutingthe compass datatothe
displayNMEA Inconnection, oralternatively, forconnectinga NMEA GPS
system.
Thejunctionbox includes:
• SeaTalkcable and connectorto attachto displayunit
• Powercable to connectto 12 Vpower (if required)
• Inputconnectionsto connect SeaTalkcablefrom externalequipment
• Spareconnectionsfor anotherinstrument
CAUTION:
Ensurecorrect polarityofthe12Vsupplybeforeapplyingradar or
SeaTalkpower. Itisrecommendedthata multimeterisusedtocheckthe
connections.

connectiondetailsforspecificGPSand BeaconReceiversystems.
