Adjusting Gain, Sea Clutter, Rain Clutter and Tune
Automatic adjustmentof Gain,Sea and Tuneisavailable, alternatively you
cansetany of theseparametersto manualandusethetrackpadto adjustits
value.Rain clutterisadjustedmanuallyusingthe RAIN orFTC control.GAIN,
SEA, RAIN andFTC areaccessedfromtheGAIN key;TUNE isaccessedfromthe
MULTI key.We recommend that you leave the TUNE controlinAutomode.
Note:Gain, Sea and Tune can only be adjustedif thecontrolisset to Manual
adjustment.
Whenyou select manualGAIN,SEA or TUNE adjustmentthe soft key icon
showsa verticalsliderbar. As you pressthe trackpad,the valueis indicatedin
the slider.
WhenyouswitchFTC or RAIN On,thesoftkeyiconshowsaverticalsliderbar.
Asyoupress the trackpad,the value is indicated in theslider.
Ifyou change thesettings,the new GAIN, SEA andTUNE modes(autoor
manual)andvaluesremain seteven when you turnthe radaroffandon again;
RainandFTC are resettoOffat power-on.The statusbarindicates which
controlsareswitched to AutoorOn,as shown in Figure 3-6.

➤ To adjust a parameter:
1. Selecta range appropriatetotheadjustmentyouwishtomake.Theopti-
mum Tune settingvariesslightlyfor different ranges,dependingonthe
pulsewidth used.
2. PressGAIN orMULTI. Theslidersoftkeys are displayed.The last-used
sliderishighlighted (displayedininversevideo)to show thatitis selected.
3. Pressthe requiredsoftkeysothatthe sliderbox is highlighted.
TheTUNE andGAIN softkeystogglethecontrolbetweenAutoandManual
mode.The SEA softkey togglesthecontrol betweenAuto-Harbour,Auto-
OffshoreandManualmode.IfyouselectManualmodethelastautosetting
isretained. Youcanonlymove the sliderif the controlis settoManual.
