Keypad
Mostofthealphanumerickeys are used to inputmultiplecharacters. Each
timeyoupressoneofthesekeysinsuccession,thenextcharacteronthatkeyis
input.For example,each press of the1 keyalternately inputsA, B,C,then1.
TheNavigator’s arrow keysfunctionmuchliketheradar/chartdisplay’s
trackpad,enablingyoutomovethecursorpositionorinputalpha,numeric,or
specialcharacters(.,-/‘&).
Theins key functionsthesame as the ENTER key on radar/chartdisplayand
del inserts a spaceduring editmode.
Selecting an Entry in the Waypoint List
3. TheNavigator can be used to selectan existingitemin the WaypointList.
Thiscanbe accomplishedusing thearroworalphanumeric keys.
➤ To selectan existingitemintheWaypointList:
1. Usetheupanddownarrowkeystomovetheselectionbarupanddownthe
list to highlight the desired entry.

Pressthe alphanumerickey that containsthe firstletterornumberof the
desiredwaypointname. The selection barmovesto theentry startingwith
thatletteror number.
Ifmorethan one entrybeginswith that character,theselectionbarmoves
to the first one in the list. Each time the same key is pressed, the selection
barmovesto the entrystartingwiththe next characteron the key.If no
entryexistsfor thatcharacter, the entrystarting withthe nearestprevious
characterisselected.If the numericvalueof the keyisinputwhen no
numericentryexists,theselectionbar movestothe firstalphaentry.
Forexample,let’s saywehavefour waypointsnamedORION,
POLARIS,QUANTUM, and 6-GUN. Pressingthe opq/6 keyfour suc-
cessivetimeswouldselect the waypointsORION (O), POLARIS (P),
QUANTUM (Q), then 6-GUN (6).However,pressingthe rst/7 keyfour
successive timeswould selectQUANTUM forthefirst threekey presses
becauseentriesbeginningwith the associatedlettersdonotexistand Q is
thenextpreviousbeginningletter.The fourthpressoftherst/7 key would
select6-GUN becausenoentriesbeginwitha 7 and6 is the next previous
beginningnumber.
