2.4 Radar Display Control Functions
Thissectiondescribeshowtousetheradarcontrolsto:
• Usethe zoom functionto enlargeaselectedarea.
• Offsetthe centerof the radar display.
• Momentarily hidethe ship’s headingmarker(SHM).
Using the Zoom Function
Ifyouwish to see a sectionof the radarpictureinmoredetail,you canuse the
Zoomfunctiontomagnifytheselectedareatotwiceitssize.There aretwo
zoomoptions:
• ZoomInto-The enlargedareaisdisplayedinaquarter-screenZoomWin-
dowin the lower rightcornerof the screen.A boxin the originalradarpic-
tureindicatesthe enlarged area; youcanmovethisusing the context-
sensitive cursor,therebychangingtheimage in the Zoom Window.
Note: Iftheareayouwishtoenlargeisinthequarterofthescreenthatwillbe
coveredby theZoom Window,youshouldoffsetthe center (seethenextsec-
tion)to move the area to anotherpart of the screenbeforeselectingZoom
mode.
• ZoomFrom-Theenlargedareaisdisplayedinthemainwindow,withthe
originalradarpicturein a quarter-screen windowinthelower rightcorner
ofthescreen.Aboxintheoriginalradarpictureindicatestheenlargedarea;
youcanmovethisusingthecontext-sensitivecursor,therebychangingthe
zoomedimage.
Note: YoucannotuseZoomandWindowsatthesametime:ifyouturnoneon,
theotheristurnedoffautomatically,andrestoredwhenthelatteristurnedoff
again.
➤ Toenlarge an area:
1. Pressthe DISPLAY key. The softkeysare updated.
2. Pressthe ZOOM softkeytodisplaythe followingsoft keys
