5.7 Using Tracks
TheTrackfunctionisusedtomarkon-screen thetrailthatyour vesselhas
followed,as if it hadleft a visible fixed wake.
Whilethetrackisswitchedon itisrecordedinthedisplayunit’smemory.You
specifytheintervalatwhichtrackpointsare made anda line is drawnon-
screenbetweeneachpoint.Upto4500trackpointscanbesavedintotal:inthe
current trackand in upto5trackfiles (eacha maximum of 750 points).The
currenttrackremainson-screen,evenfollowingapoweroff/on, until you
clearthetrack.
Breaksin the trackwillbe causedwhenany of the followingoccurfor longer
thanthespecified trackinterval:thetrack isswitchedoffthenon; theposition
fixis lost;thedisplayunitis switchedoff.
To enableyou tofollowthistrack on your return voyage,the SmartRoute
function convertsthetrack(orthe lastsegmentof a trackwithbreaks)intoa
route which is automatically reversed, see SmartRouteonpage 5-42.
Atrack can be savedandretrieved for displayat a later date.Youcan only
displayonetrackat a time; youmustcleara current trackfrom the screenif
youwant todisplayasavedtrack.
