Editing a Route
3. IfyouNAME aroute,usethe trackpadtomove thecursorrightor leftto the
characteryouwishto edit.Then use the top orbottom of the trackpadto
increaseordecreasethe letteror number.
4. PressENTER to cleartheName List,or CLEAR to cancel the name then to
return to the default soft key display,press ENTER again.
Editing a Route
Onceyouhave createdaroute,you can edititusingthe WaypointListas
describedinCreatingaNew Routeon page 5-19,or using thecontext-
sensitive cursor to:
Inserta Waypointinto theroute
Addwaypoints at theendof the route
Removea Waypoint
Reversea Route
Movea Waypoint as describedin MovingaWaypointon page 5-14.
Anychangesyou maketotheroute,exceptmoveawaypoint,affectonlythe
current route.Thecurrentrouteisalwaysheldinposition0in thedatabase,so
youneed to Save the routeifyou wantto keep the changes.
Inserting a Waypoint into a Route
Youcanusethecontext-sensitivecursortoinsertoneormorewaypointsinthe
currentroute.However, if therouteis being followedyou cannot inserta
waypointintothecurrentleg.
To inserta new waypointinthe currentroute:
1. Movethecursorover the routeleginto whichyouwishtoinserta way-
point.The lettersRTE andtherouteleg data box are displayed.The Route
softkeys aredisplayed.
2. PressENTER.Thecursor changestoafour-way arrow, controllinga new
waypoint.The waypointis connectedto the existingwaypointson either
sidewith a dashedline.
3. Movethenewwaypointtotherequired position,andpress ENTER todrop
itand return to normalcursoroperation,or CLEAR toabandon theopera-
tion.
Thenewwaypoint is temporarilyadded to thewaypointlist and namedwith
thefirstavailablewaypointnumber. Thewaypointsinthecurrentroutearere-
numberedto identifythe new positions.
Note:If you Clear the routebefore itisSaved,thenew waypointis removed.
