Going To an
Individual Target
Point
Advancing to a Waypoint
➤ Onceyouarefollowingaroute,youcanadvancetothenextwaypoint,evenif
youhave notreachedthecurrenttarget waypoint:
1. Ifnecessary,presstheGOTO defaultsoft keyto displaytheGoto/Follow
softkeys.
2. PresstheWAYPOINT ADVANCE softkey.Thecurrentlegoftherouteisaban-
donedandthenextwaypointbecomesthetarget.Thedisplayisupdatedto
showthe new routeleg.
Restart Cross Track Error (XTE)
Whileyou arefollowinga route,orgoing to a target point,you can restartthe
XTE.This sets the XTE to zero and moves theoriginto the actualvessel
position.
Restarting XTEis usefulifyou find yourselfofftrackand wantto go straight
toyourtarget,ratherthan get backonto the originaltrack.
➤ To restartXTE:
1. Pressthe GOTO defaultsoft key, the Follow/Gotosoft keys aredisplayed.
2. PresstheRESTART XTE softkey.Therouteoriginmovestothecurrentvessel
position,thustheXTE becomes zero.
Going To an Individual Target Point
Rather than following aroute, you can go directly to a selected target point,
thiscan be an existingwaypoint(not in the currentroute),or the cursor
position.
➤ To navigatedirectlyto an existingwaypoint:
1. Usethetrackpadtopositionthecursorovertherequiredwaypointuntilthe
letters WPT and the waypointsoftkeys are displayed.
Alternatively,youcanselectthewaypointfromthewaypointlistasdescribed
in Section 5.3.
